Attempt to smuggle bovines foiled

RAMBAN, Oct 21: Ramsoo Police foiled attempt to smuggle bovines.
As per police sources, a truck bearing registration number JK03-0362 was on its way to Kashmir from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and hit a parapet on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Devool near Panthyal and got stuck.
Police team rushed to the spot and found bovines in the vehicle.
When questioned, the driver failed to give satisfactory reply and also failed to produce any valid permission for transporting the cattle.
Police team arrested the driver and rescued 17 bovine animals from the truck.
The arrested driver was identified as Ajaiz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Altaf Khatana of Kachwan Tehsil Kokarnag District Anantnag.
A case FIR Number 121/2021 under sections 279 and 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
