JAMMU, Oct 22: Janipur Police arrested a drug peddler along with 12 grams heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and SP City Mohita Sharma laid a naka at Paloura Chowk and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian tried to escape but was intercepted after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 12 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Kunal Dogra (29), son of Romash Kumar Dogra, a resident of Basant Nagar near Janipur District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 114/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
