NIA raids 10 locations, 8 arrested

Srinagar, Oct 22: National Investigation Agency (NIA) today continued searches in Kashmir and raided 10 locations and arrested eight persons in connection with the militancy conspiracy case.

The NIA in a statement stated that on October 22, it conducted searches at 10 locations in Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag and Baramulla districts in Kashmir.
It said that eight accused persons identified as Adil Ahmad War of Srinagar; Manan Gulzar Dar of Srinagar; Hilal Ahmed Dar of Kupwara; Sobhia of Parimpora, Srinagar; Rouf Bhatt of Anantnag; Shaqib Bashir of Kupwara; Zamin Adil of Srinagar and Haris Nisar Langoo, were arrested.
“The case relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent militant acts in J&K and other major cities, by cadres of Laskhar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc,” the NIA said.
The NIA had registered the case as RC 29/2021/NIA/DLI) dated 10.10.2021 and initiated the investigation. “Till now 13 accused persons have been arrested in this case by NIA”, it said.
The NIA said that electronic devices and incriminating Jehadi documents, posters have been seized today during the searches. “The eight accused persons arrested are militant operatives of various militant organisations and have been instrumental in providing logistical and material support to militants”, the statement said.
