J&K hosts National Digital Transformational Conclave

SRINAGAR, Oct 23: History was created yesterday when J&K hosted 1st ever virtual National Digital Transformational Conclave led by Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary J&K and mentored by Amit Sharma, Secretary, Information Technology Department and Chief Executive Officer, Jammu & Kashmir e-Governance Agency.
More than 75 officers from Central-cum-State/UT Departments and specialists relating to Information Technology participated in this IT-Awareness Conference and contributed with their innovative thought sharing. The Conclave was partnered by GovConnect Group along with JaKeGA of J&K.
Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta in his presidential remarks shared lot of innovative steps taken for brining transparency and public deliverance during last few months which include launch of Land Records Website, CCTNS, Police Services Website in a record time, hosting of several departmental services on Centralised Data Centre of UT, successful implementation of e-Office making as well as DBT and creation of Dashboards in the Finance Department.
Amit Sharma, Secretary IT Department who also happens to be CEO, JaKeGA during his inaugural address and session participations spoke about lot of important projects coming up in J&K which include creation of uniform database of citizens/beneficiaries for all departments, provisioning of public services at doorsteps of citizens using CSC model, conduct of Government Process Re-engineering (GPR) for all Government Departments to simplify conduct of work cutting down unnecessary levels, etc.
He assured that IT administration of the UT shall soon figure amongst favourite IT destinations of the nation and several measures are being taken in this direction which included setting-up of IT Towers, attracting IT-related investment under New Industrial Policy, capacity building and job creations in IT domain.
Lot of Digital Transformation related sessions were held throughout the Day wherein important presentations and Thought-Sharing was done by several senior officers from all across the nation and it had participation even from abroad like US, Singapore, etc.
Anand Jain, Director ACB, J&K, Sarita Chauhan, Commissioner/Secretary, Labour & Employment, Athar Aamir Khan, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation & CEO, Srinagar Smart City Ltd, Dr Shafqat Khan, OSD Health & Medical Education Department were some prominent speakers from J&K apart from Amit Sharma, Rajinder Khajuria, Additional Secretary IT and Meghna Khajuria, Manager JaKeGA.
