FIRs registered against medicos for celebrating Pak win

Srinagar Oct 26: Police have booked medicos of two primer Medical Colleges in Srinagar under Anti-Terror law for celebrating Pakistan cricket team’s win over arch rival India in the T20 World Cup Match, that was played in Dubai on Sunday.
An official said that Police have taken notice of two incidents particularly – one at the hostel of the SKIMS hospital in Soura and another at the hostel of the Government Medical College (GMC) in Karan Nagar – both in Srinagar.
An FIR was filed at Police Station Soura (FIR No. 104/2021) against medicos and warden of SKIMS Soura for celebrating Pakistan cricket team’s win over India on Sunday night. The students pursing MBBS and other degrees and residing in the un-married hostel of SKIMS Soura raised slogans and burst firecrackers after Pakistan’s win.
The case has been registered under section 13 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), 105A and 505 IPC.
Police registered another case (FIR no. 71/2021) under section 13 of the UAPA at the Police Station Karan Nagar against the students residing at the GMC hostel who were seen raising slogans and dancing soon after Pakistan win.
These are open FIRs and accused in the cases are yet to be identified and investigations have been taken up.
