SRINAGAR, July 18: State Executive Committee headed by Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khanday today approved release of funds to the tune of Rs 14.2 crore out of the State Disaster Response Fund.
The release of funds was approved on account of payment of relief to the affected families and temporary restoration of public utilities damaged due to various natural calamities during the years 2011-12 and 2012-13 across the State.
District-wise damage and loss assessment reported by District Development Commissioners was placed before the State Executive Committee for consideration and approval under the SDRF.
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Arun Kumar, Director General of Police, Ashok Prasad, Principal Secretary Planning and Development B R Sharma, Principal Secretary Home, Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, B B Vyas, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shailendra Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pradeep Gupta, Administrative Secretaries and other senior officers.
