Theft case solved; shopkeeper among two arrested with stolen batteries

JAMMU, Oct 30: Kanachack Police solved a theft case with the arrest of two persons including a shopkeeper along with stolen batteries.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man namely Sikander Singh, son of Darshan Singh of Gurhasingu, Bawa Talab District Jammu with Police Station Kanachack regarding theft of two batteries from his truck bearing registration number JK02CT-8281.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 154/2021 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by SHO Inspector Vishav Partap Singh and assisted by PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sunil Singh.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up a suspect namely Bunty Sharma, son of Bishan Dass of Jandian Thathi, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the theft and disclosed that he sold two batteries to Raju Electricals situated at Kot Bhalwal. On his disclosure, two batteries were recovered from the possession of Raj Kumar (Owner Raju Electricals), son of Girdhari Lal of Seri Pandita, Tartarocha, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
The overall operation was conducted under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
“It is requested to the general public of District Jammu to inform the concerned Police Station if any person came to their shop to sell the stolen property otherwise legal action would be taken against the receiver of stolen properties also”, police spokesman said.
