SRINAGAR, July 19: Four Government offices, twenty- two shops and a house were damaged in different fire incidents in the Valley, police said.
A police spokesman said that during the intervening night of Friday, fire broke out in the Main Market in Sogam area of district Kupwara, in which four offices, a treasury, a post office, a library, an AEE irrigation office and twenty-two shops were damaged.
Some civilians and an officer also sustained minor injuries in the incident. A case FIR number 57/13 under Section 436 RPC has been registered in this regard, the spokesman said.
In another incident, fire broke out in the residential house of Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Dhobi Mohalla, Batamaloo, Srinagar, due to leakage of LPG gas, resulting in partial damage to the house. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
