SRINAGAR, Nov 1: “The security situation that has emerged over the last two months in the Valley beckons that the Hindu minorities including the Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs should be provided foolproof security, care and compassion in Kashmir.
This was stated by senior BJP and KP leader, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo at an informal chat with media persons here today. He said it is heartening to note that the Government took all necessary measures to beef up the security environment which was breached due to the selective killings in the Valley recently.
It is a matter of concern that the political parties and the leadership in the Valley haven’t gone ahead of the ritual of condemnation regarding these killings nor has there been any kind of major expression of ridicule and denunciations of these gory incidents of terrorism in the Valley by the society at large”, said Chrungoo.
Chrungoo said that it was again a matter of concern that some Kashmir centric political leaders and parties have indulged in issuing statements to criticise the action taken against the Kashmiri students raising anti-India and pro-Pak slogans in and outside Kashmir Valley. Their statements seem to be defending the anti-India behaviour of the students which was highly objectionable.
He said the JKSSB has forwarded the select lists of various categories of candidates under the general recruitment drive and the PM’s Package to the Government of the UT for appointment and keeping in view the current security situation in the Valley, the heads of the departments where these selected candidates are supposed to join are appealed to take a lenient view regarding their date of joining, submission of documents, completion of formalities and staying of the candidates in the Valley.
It is a highly cumbersome job to get the secure accommodation in the Valley for these selected candidates therefore, a humane and sympathetic approach be adopted by the offices where the selected candidates are supposed to join”, Chrungoo added. He also urged the Government to rescind the orders under SR 194 in regard to the PM package employees.
