Expedite registration of unorganized workers on portal: DC

UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: The Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today reviewed implementation of registration of unorganized workers on the National Database for unorganised workers/e-Shram Portal in the district.
A threadbare discussion was held on the issue and the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Udhampur, Pradyot Gupta gave a detailed presentation about the use of e-Shram Portal. He apprised the DM that till date 8111 un-organised workers have been registered in the district since the launch of this portal by the Government of India in August 2021.
The Deputy Commissioner said that e-Shram Portal, launched by the Union Govt aimed at facilitating better execution of various social security schemes for all the un-organised sector workers. The purpose behind is to help unorganized sector workers and provide them benenfit of various Govt schemes.
Chib directed the concerned officials to achieve the target before ending December this year. She also instructed the concerned officers to ensure holding of regular registration camps in the district, sub division and tehsil level. She said that awareness camps should also be organised in this connection.
DDC Chairperson, BDC chairpersons, EO MC Udhampur, GM DIC, PO ICDS, CMO, CEO, ALC and other officers were also present in the meeting.
