Randhawa divested of all party positions

JAMMU, Nov 2: Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Vikram Randhawa, State secretary, BJP Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory in reference to making of reckless and defamatory remarks against particular community and woman folk.

Pending finalizing of disciplinary proceedings, Disciplinary Committee headed by Sunil Sethi, Chairman and having Virenderjeet Singh and N. D. Rajwal as members has given interim report in view of huge impact of reckless statement of Vikram Randhawa and bad name it has brought to party. The Committee has recommended relieving of Randhawa of all party positions pending finalizing of disciplinary proceedings.
The report has been examined by party president, Ravinder Raina and it has been decided to agree with interim recommendations of Disciplinary Committee report . The Committee also felt strongly that disparaging remarks have been made against woman folk as also against particular community which has hurt religious sentiments of people.
Party president decided to take strict and strong action against Randhawa without wasting any time as party believes in respecting all religions particularly women, it is unacceptable that a person occupying high position in party may make statement which will hurt religious sentiments of anyone.
It was also felt that FIR has also been registered in this regard by police. It was as such decided to relieve Vikram Randhawa from all official positions with immediate effect pending finalizing of disciplinary proceedings against him
This was disclosed in a press release by chief spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir, Sunil Sethi while releasing the copy of the report to media.
The handout said that former Minister and party vice president, Sham Choudhary has been named as new Prabhari cum incharge for Rajouri district .
