JAMMU, Nov 2: The employees of Jal Shakti/PHE Department, Rural Division Jammu today held protest demonstration in front of the office of Executive Engineer here today.
They were demanding release of their salary for the month of September and October 2021. A large number of employees and workers of PHE Rural Division Jammu assembled outside the Divisional office here during the day and held protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against the Executive Engineer and higher authorities in the department.
They alleged that due to non-availability the Executive Engineer and attitude of neglect by the Administration the employees are suffering. They pointed out that Executive Engineer Rural Division Jammu, Gopal Sharma was retired on Sept 30, 2021 and since then no XEn was posted in his place. The senior officers in the Administrative department are least bothered about the issue.
They pointed out that Diwali festival is on Nov 4 and all the employees of the PHE Rural Division Jammu are without salary till today. Chief Engineer PHE Jammu was apprised of the matter 2-3 times and he had assured that new XEn will be posted shortly but till today nothing happened. He failed to honour his commitment while the senior officers in the Administrative department (PHE) were sleeping over the matter. They sought intervention of Chief Secretary and the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha over the matter.
