KATHUA, Nov 3: One person died in a road accident after the scooty he was driving was hit by an auto at Hatli today.
The deceased has been identified as Kewal Krishan, 50, son of Uttam Chand of Govindsar Kathua while his pillion rider was injured. He has been identified as Sachin, son of Dev Raj of Ward 16 Kathua.
The duo was shifted by police to Kathua Hospital wherefrom doctors referred Kewal Krishan to GMC Jammu. But at GMC Jammu the doctors declared Kewal as brought dead. The Sachin who suffered a minor injury is undergoing treatment at Kathua Hospital.
The Hatli Morh Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and also arrested the driver of the auto.
Meanwhile, one youth consumed poisonous substance at his residence in village Khanpur under the jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police Station in Marheen tehsil of Kathua district.
He has been identified as Rajan, 21, son of Sohan Lal of Khanpur. He was shifted to Hiranagar Hospital by the family where he was declared as brought dead. The police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation in this regard.
