115th Mahajayanti of Bhagavaan Gopinath celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

—Excelsior/Rakesh Devotees paying obeisance to Bhagavaan Gopinath on his Mahajayanti at Udheywala Ashram on Saturday.

JAMMU, July 20: The 115th Mahajayanti of Bhagavaan Gopinath was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour at Bhagavaan Gopinath Ashram, Udheywala.
Devotees thronged the ashram from early morning and numbers went on rising and the congregation swelled to thousands. Bhagavaan Gopinath Ashram is a “Sidha Peeth” for the devotees, who pay obeisance of Bhagavaan Gopinath on the day of Mahajayanti.
The programme started with paduka poojan, in which hundreds of sadhoos participated.
Paduka poojan was performed in the Ashram amongst the devotees and sadhoos by reciting the bhajans and chanting of mantras.
Sadhus were served with Prasad and offered dakshinaa (cash offering), which has been a practice since Bhagavaan Gopinathji’s time. Later, prasad was also served among the devotees.
Devotional songs and prayers were recited by the devotees, which continued till late evening. The celebrations concluded with sandhya aarti.
As per reports, Mahajayanti of Gopinath was also celebrated at Kharyar, Srinagar, Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi and Vikaspuri West Delhi, Chambur and Kandivilli, West Mumbai, Kashmiri Bhawan, Kothrud, Pune, Bangalore, Amritsar, Chandigarh and various other parts of the country and abroad.
