JMC launches sanitation drive

JAMMU, Nov 5: As per directions of its Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today launched a special sanitation drive in Transport Yards at Narwal.
The sanitation drive was started from Yard No. 6 and covered most of the areas.
During drive, the Health Officer interacted with shopkeepers and other business establishments and aware them about user charges and added that every business establishments should keep dustbins so that the same can be lifted properly by the JMC.
JMC team comprising concerned Sanitation Officer, Sanitary Inspector/Sanitary Supervisor and other allied staff was put in place under overall supervision of Health Officer, JMC to accomplish the drive.
Commissioner JMC, Avni Lavasa has appealed shopkeepers of Transport Nagar as well as general public to cooperate JMC and use identified places for disposal of garbage.
She also stressed to avoid use of polythene as the same is a major cause of blockage of drains and nallahs.
The Commissioner stressed for putting every possible effort in achieving goal of making city Jammu clean and green and added that such drives shall continue in future to cover every nook and corner of the city.
