UDHAMPUR, Nov 7: The police arrested two persons and recovered a stolen vehicle from their possession.
Official sources said that based on the written report lodged by a person namely Pawan Kumar of Sanasar, Tehsil Batote, Ramban that some unknown miscreants have stolen his vehicle bearing registration number JK19- 3606 from industrial estate area of Udhampur town, a case FIR No. 335/21 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
A special police team led by Chaman Gorkham, SHO Udhampur under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur conducted raids at different suspected locations. During investigation, Police zeored in on some suspected persons . During their sustained interrogation, two suspects broke down and confessed the commission of offence.
They were identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Raku, son of Nek Ram of Sallian Talab, Udhampur and Anil Sharma alias Nellu, son of Dev Raj, near Railway Station, Udhampur. On the disclosure of accused persons, police party recovered the stolen vehicle. They were arrested and put behind the bars.
