RAMBAN, Nov 8: Batote Police arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest from the past 33 years.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Batote led by SHO Inspector Ajeet Singh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen conducted raid and apprehended an absconder, who were evading his arrest from the past 33 years.
The arrested person was identified as Rajbir Singh, son of Jaswant Singh of Sherwani Colony, Khwaja Bagh, District Baramulla.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 116/1988 under Sections 382 and 341 IPC with Police Station Batote.
On verification, it was found that arrested absconder’s co-accused namely Tara Singh, son of Ujager Singh of Khadniyar, District Baramulla had died in the year 2000 and his death certificate was produced in the court of law for legal proceedings.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
