SRINAGAR, Nov 9: Expressing deep anguish over the blind silence of the Forest Department, Wild Life Department, LCMA, Revenue Department, SMC, and concerned agencies over the frequent cutting of hundreds of Pine trees including walnut and others at Kral Sangri just next to the famous Tulip garden behind Taj Vivanta Hotel through land grabbers, and land mafia who illegally have encroached hundreds of Kanals of land, senior BJP leader and Srinagar district president, of the party, Ashok Bhat has asked the Governor administration to take strong note of the abating land grabbing in the green belt area.
He said that common people in the erstwhile J&K are being harassed and prosecuted for meagre pieces of land while influential land grabbers having cut hundreds of coniferous & walnut trees on illegally encroached more than 200 Kanals of forest land allegedly under the patronage of two high profile families, Abdullah’s & Mufti’s in the past.
Further, he said that allegedly this land was also encroached and revenue entries were illegally done under this high profile patronage with the help of then DC Srinagar and then Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and they tried to regularize it with their help by making open loot to the State treasures.
Lauding the role of police to register case on the public demand has asked all concerned departments and other authorities to step in immediately with timely prompt action and demolish the illegally demarcated poles and wires. Ashok Bhat warned that he will come on road along with his team as he aspires to see end to loot and corruption in Naya Kashmir and warned land grabbers against this public loot of State treasure. He has asked the Government to intervene and make full support to those law enforcing agencies to prevent the State treasure and curb these land grabbers for making damages to state property.
He also demanded a thorough probe into the matter and punishment to the guilty.
