NEW DELHI, July 21: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) today alerted seven States informing about plans of several militant groups who were likely to target seven airports of the country.
Airports, which have come under tight vigil following the recent terror alert, are — Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Chennai International Airport, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati and Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) in Bangalore.
According to IB sources, terror groups may hatch conspiracy to hijack a plane. The militants may use small airstrips to fly. All airport and other concerned authorities reportedly have started increasing securities at all airports, especially at small air strips.
Reports also informed that the militants may used new form of explosives. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and other concerned agencies were also put on high alert. (UNI)
