NEW DELHI, Nov 14: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday paid tributes to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 132nd birth anniversary.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, the VP wrote, “My tributes to the former Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary today. He will be always remembered for his contribution to building a modern India.”
“Tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji on his birth anniversary,” the PM wrote in a tweet.
On the occasion of Nehru’s birth anniversary, Gandhi paid floral tributes at his memorial Shanti Van here.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi sharing a ‘quote’ of Nehru in a tweet wrote, “Remembering India’s first Prime Minister who greatly valued truth, unity and peace.”
Nehru was the first Prime Minister of the country. His birthday is celebrated as ‘Children’s Day’ across the country every year on November 14. (UNI)
