CRPF HC dies due to suspected cardiac arrest

JAMMU, Nov 14: Head Constable (HC) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died of suspected cardiac arrest, when he was about to board a train for New Delhi from Jammu Tawi Railway Station, here.
As per police sources, CRPF HC Ram Kumar Kaushik, a resident of New Delhi, who was transferred from 160 Battalion stationed at Bhour Camp Chatha District Jammu and posted in the National Capital, was boarding a train on Saturday night at platform number 2 of Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
He suddenly fell unconscious at the platform and the locals informed the police. He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), but was declared dead by the doctors.
The Constable is suspected to have died of cardiac arrest, police sources said, adding that the body was handed over to CRPF authorities after conducting the post-mortem.
In this regard, inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by GRP Jammu.
