RAMBAN, Nov 14: Ashok Kumar, former MLA from Ramban has strongly criticized the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for repeatedly neglecting the far flung and backward blocks of Ramban constituency in terms of allocation of tourist villages.
He has strongly stressed upon the Government for inclusion of villages of Block Ramban, Batote, Rajgarh, Gandhri, Assar and Kashtigarh in tourist villages for the promotion of cultural, pilgrimage and eco-tourism in the region.
In a statement issued here, he said: “There is strong regional disparity in allocation of development funds in the region when compare to other regions of the Union Territory of J&K. Now, the Government is trying to further create the same regional disparity within the Ramban District by neglecting all the blocks of Ramban Constituency in terms of allocating tourist villages. The Government is denying even the basic tourist project to eligible blocks. It is a great injustice to the people of the region.”
