JMC intensifies fogging drive

JAMMU, Nov 15: On directions of JMC Commissioner, Avny Lavasa, the Corporation intensified fogging drives in view of increasing Dengue cases in Jammu so that breeding of mosquitoes responsible for spreading the disease can be stopped.
Today the areas covered under fogging drives included Parade, Pacca Danga, Panjtirthi, Chowk Chabutra, Kachi Chawni, Shalamar, Bus Stand, Indira Chowk, Jewel, Dogra Chowk, Gujjar Nagar etc.
The drives shall be carried out under the overall supervision of Dr. Sanjogita Soodan, JMC Health Officer.
As per the new daily roaster, all JMC Wards shall be covered in fogging drives with the coordination of Anti Malaria Wing of Jammu.
The Commissioner stated that such drives shall continue in future also to completely eradicate Dengue from the City.
Lavasa issued directions to health wing of JMC to put in place sufficient number of men and machinery so that no area remains uncovered from fogging.
She further appealed all the inhabitants of Jammu city to avoid accumulation of water at their homes by emptying water coolers, pots or any stored water and keep the surroundings neat and clean.
