SRINAGAR, Nov 15: Anti Corruption Bureau trapped and arrested Reyaz Ahmad Mir, Village Level Worker (VLW), Block Soibugh, Budgam for accepting bribe in lieu of signing the authority of works under MGNREGA.
The accused public servant was demanding Rs 2000 as bribe from the complainant, who had consequently lodged a written complaint in this regard with ACB.
During the course of investigation, ACB laid a successful trap and caught red-handed Reyaz Ahmad Mir while demanding and accepting the bribe money from the complainant in presence of independent witness.
The VLW had earlier also demanded and accepted bribe money and was demanding fresh bribe from the complainant. He was arrested and taken into custody by ACB Team.
Further investigation into the case is going on, said a spokesperson of ACB.
