Anti-encroachment drives carried out

JAMMU, Nov 15: Anti encroachment drives were carried out in Kulhand area of Tehsil Barath Bagla of District Doda and at villages Dub Jagir, Vij and Sai Lanjan of District Reasi.
The anti encroachment drive was carried out by Naib Tehsildar and other Revenue Department officials under the supervision of Tehsildar Barath Bagla Shabir Ahmed Malik, during which a quantum of 53.11 kanal State/Roshni lands was retrieved.
It has been given out by the officials of Revenue Department that these anti encroachment drives henceforth will be a regular feature of the department until the entire illegal encroachment is not retrieved.
Moreover it has been informed that similar drives are being conducted in other areas of the district to discourage the illegal encroachments in letter and spirit.
Meanwhile, District Administration Reasi today retrieved 75.15 kanal Government encroached land during a massive anti encroachment drive conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Charandeep Singh.
Kahcharai land measuring 16.10 kanal was retrieved from encroachers at village Dub Jagir Tehsil Pouni with strict warning to the potential encroachers not to repeat such action in future.
Another parcel of Common land measuring 2.5 kanal was vacated at Village Jij, while 4 kanal common land was retrieved in Village Sai Lanjan. The land was restored to the community in presence of prominent citizens for their common use with warning to encroachers not to do encroachment in future.
The DC also directed encroachers not to trespass on said land in future and warned that violators will be prosecuted in case of any encroachment.
Tehsildar Pouni Lekh Raj and Tehsildar Thakrakote Naresh Kumar were present.
