REASI, Nov 24: Vice Chairperson District Development Council, Reasi, Advocate Sajra Qadir today conducted a public darbar at Mendi Chassote of Balmatkote and took stock of local problems and developmental needs.
During the darbar, which was also attended by many officers from the district administration, the locals raised issues regarding road connectivity, shortage of staff in schools, water supply, upgrading of power infrastructure, bank facility, post office, construction of link roads, land compensation by various departments in the area and the dire need of doctors in PHC as many die without proper treatment.
The general public also revealed that the students study under trees because of no school buildings, scarcity of staff in many departments for which the DDC Chairperson assured the folks that the things will get sorted.
The Vice-Chairperson also met several public deputations at Chassote and other locations of this hilly region. She gave a patient hearing to the public grievances and issued directions to officers accompanying her for immediate redress of the genuine demands. She directed all the officers to ensure a prompt and proactive approach towards the public grievances and issues of the people raised in public outreach programmes held in the backward areas of the district.
Advocate Sajra Qadir also urged the people to take benefits of Government schemes like PMGSY, water supply schemes, road compensation, PMKISAN, Jal Shakti, pensions, and other insurance-related schemes that are meant to benefit the marginalized and poor families living in far-flung areas.
