Protest against power suspension

UDHAMPUR, July 24:  A large number of people of village Ritti raged over the non-supply of electricity for last seven days assembled outside the office of Executive Engineer, Electrical maintenance and R&E division here and demonstrated against the higher authorities of the department.
The villagers raised slogans against the defunct system of the department for not restoring the power supply in the village even after the lapse of seven days.
Charan Dass and Mohan Lal who were leading the demonstration, disclosed that the department has installed 100KV transformer in the thickly populated village, which required a high voltage transformer not less than 250 KVA. Due to this, the present transformer of 100 KVA is observed always fused due to heavy load, they said.
Even after making several appeals to the authorities, no heed was paid to the issue, they said and demanded the authorities to install 250KVA transformer in the village to provide smooth power supply.
