RAMBAN, Nov 25: District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kulwant Singh has seized 4 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Gool, Sub-Division during raids today.
On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam, DMO along with his team conducted raids in different areas of Gool to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials.
DMO informed that during this drive 4 dumpers and tippers used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted were seized and Rs. 85000 have been recovered as fine from violators.
“We are repeatedly saying that we will be acting tough against illegal mining, we are trying to discourage it, it is in this context that a drive has been launched across the district, DMO added.
He advised consumers to purchase minerals from legal sources only and stay away from illegal miners. He warned that FIR will be lodged against habitual violators if found involved in illegal transportation of minerals 2nd time.
