Forester, Guard suspended in Bani green felling case

JAMMU, Nov 25: The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Jammu has suspended a Forester and Beat Guard from Roulka Block in Bani Range of Basohli Forest Division, in connection with the massive felling of Deodar trees in the area.
Official sources said that after directions from the Government, CCF Jammu, K. Ramesh Kumar suspended Forester, Omkar Chand, I/C Block Officer Roulka Block of Bani Range and Forest Guard, Shahbaz, the then Beat Guard Doulka and now I/C Block Officer Sarthal Block of Basohli Forest Division.
“Consequent upon the serious nature of illicit damages reported in Compartment Nos. 29, 30 and 31 /BNI in Roulka Forest Block of Bani Range in Basohli Forest Division and as recommended by the Conservator of Forests, East Circle Jammu, vide his No.CFE-J/Estt/1766-68 dated 24-11-2021, Omkar Chand I/C Block Officer Roulka and Shahbaz Ahmed, the then Beat Guard Doulka and recently promoted as I/C Block Officer Sarthal in Bani Range, are hereby placed under suspension pending detailed enquiry as ordered by the PCCF, J&K. They have been attached to the office of CCF Jammu with immediate effect,” the order said.
