PHE workers stage protest

NOWSHERA, July 25:     Community Participation Consolidated Workers Union of PHE division Nowshera (Rajouri) under the leadership of Shiv Kumar Sharma, the State President of INTUC and president of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association (Jammu province),  held a protest demonstration here today.
The demonstrators expressed deep anguish  and concern over the callous and delaying attitude of the department towards community participation consolidate workers and submitted a charter of demands to the SDM, Nowshera. The annoyed workers also raised anti-administration slogans and warned against anti workers policies.
Mr Sharma while addressing the demonstrators said that all the demands put fourth by them are genuine and urged the administration to address the problems of workers like release the wages of CP workers and daily wagers, regularization of eligible ITI and daily rated workers who have completed the seven years service,  benefits of minimum wages to all the daily rated workers, time bound promotion Quasi permanent in favour of eligible employees in time, issue benches, torch, rain coat, umbrella, gum shoes etc. to the filed workers.
Mr. Sharma warned the PHE authorities and State Government that if due consideration was not paid towards genuine demands of the workers, the Association shall be forced to take other course of action.
Earlier, Sham Lal president PHE Division  Nowshera (Rajouri), Pushkar Raj-President CP Workers Nowshera (Rajouri), Khalik Hussian, Ashok Kumar, Jagdish Raj, Prem Kumar, Girdhari Lal, Balwant Raj and Pankaj Kumar raised various demands of workers and stressed for early redressal, keeping in view the interests of labour class people.
