BSNL improving services, installing 10 more towers: CGM

KARGIL, July 25: Bhartiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is trying to improve the connectivity problem of Ladakh in general and Kargil in particular.
This was stated by Chief General Manager (CGM) BSNL J&K Circle KK Koul during a press conference, here today.
BSNL has installed a new and improved BSC with high capacity in Kargil, which has been connected with mobile switch Leh, he said, adding that the benefit of connecting the BSC with Mobile Switch Leh is that even if the OFC is disconnected or breakdown, there will be no effect on the Mobile Service in Kargil.
To improve further service in Kargil particularly of mobile service, BSNL is installing 10 more towers out of which 3 will in town and on 2 of these 3 towers work is under progress, 2 each in Drass and Zanskar and remaining 3 will be installed in the peripheries. After the installation of these 3 towers in town area will reduce the load on the existing towers leading to improvement in service, he added.
Koul directed the TDM Ladakh to depute the Accounts Officer BSNL Ladakh in the first week of every month for at least three days to solve the problems of the customers of Kargil.
TDM BSNL Ladakh Punchok Dorjey was also present during the press conference.
