JAMMU, Nov 28: Dr Brij Nandan Mankotia, Senior Scientist of SKUAST-Jammu, has been awarded with one of the prestigious award of the Indian Society of Agronomy society “ISA Associateship Award” in the Fifth International Agronomy Congress on “Agri-Innovations to Combat Food and Nutrition Challenges”, held recently at at Hyderabad, Telangana.
Dr Mankotia was awarded for his contribution in the field of Agronomy especially for pulse production and promotion in the Jammu region. The award was given to Dr Mankotia by the eminent and renounced scientist Prof P V V Prasad of Kansas State University (USA) in the presence of Dr Punjab Singh (Chancellor, RLBCAU, Uttar Pradesh & former secretary DARE and DG ICAR, New Delhi) and Dr Samunder Singh (president, International Society of Weed Science, USA).
The conference was jointly organized by the Indian Society of Agronomy and Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi. The conference was attended by more than 1300 delegates in hybrid mode from India and other countries like USA, UAE, Morocco, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Italy.
