Day long searches in Sunderbani

JAMMU, July 25: Army and police today conducted day long searches at forward villages of Baysian in Baja Bain area and Thanger in Sunderbani tehsil of Rajouri district after civilians told security personnel that they had observed movement of armed militants in the two villages.
SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi said Army and police started searches at Baysian, Baja Bain, a village located close to the LoC in Sunderbani, this morning after a civilian Ramesh Lal’s son told security forces and police that he had observed movement of four militants carrying weapons and wearing black dresses.
At village Thanger, adjacent to Baysian, another civilian claimed to have spotted movement of two militants.
Army and police conducted searches in the two villages throughout the day today. However, no trace of militants was found in any area. Further, fencing along the LoC in Sunderbani sector was also intact and troops hadn’t reported any infiltration attempt, reports said.
Searches were called off this evening.
