JAMMU, Nov 29: On the direction of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her recent visit here, Income Tax Department and Central GST Department in Jammu region are organizing Tax Payers Facilitation Camps at Jammu on November 30 and December 1, 2021.
For all queries/grievances pertaining to Income Tax, the camp will be held at Aayakar Sewa Kendra. Aayakar Bhawan, rail Head Complex, Panama Chowk Jammu from 3 pm to 5.30 pm on Novemver 30 and from 11 am to 5.30 pm on December 1.
Similarly, for queries and grievances redressal pertaining to GST, Customs and Central Excise issues, GST team will be hold the camp at Taxpayers Service Centre of GST Commissionerate, rail Head Complex from 3 pm to 5.30 pm on November 30 and from 11am to 5.30 pm on December 1.
According to an official handout, similar programmes, interactive sessions and Tax payers facilitation camps will be held following all the COVID safety protocol in the next fortnight in all the districts of Jammu region.
Such outreach programme and interactive sessions are intended to understand the difficulties being faced by the public in respect of Direct and Indirect taxes and to assist them in solving the problems and to motivate the youth to pay taxes.
The aim is also to find out about the expectations of the people of the region from the forthcoming Union Budget and to make the public aware about the technological advancements made by the Government to increase transparency and ease of compliance and to provide better taxpayer’s service.
