JAMMU, July 26: High Court today directed the Vigilance Organization to submit status of inquiry into the double drawl of Petrol Oil Lubricant (POL) by the vehicles attached with the Deputy Chief Minister on or before August 1, 2013.
The order was passed in a petition filed by Prof S K Bhalla seeking quashment of order dated July 22, 2013 passed by the Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu whereby four months time was granted to the Vigilance Organization for completion of verification of preliminary enquiry.
Today, SSP Vigilance, Shakti Pathak and DySP (IO), Jeetan Ji Matoo appeared along with record and CD file before High Court as per the direction issued yesterday.
After hearing Advocate S S Ahmed appearing for the petitioner whereas AAG Ravinder Sharma for the respondents and perusal of record, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray observed, “perusal of record reveals that State Vigilance Organization has undertaken process of enquiry in the year 2012. Let the respondents submit status of the progress of enquiry on affidavit on or before August 1, 2013”.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister’s Secretariat has asked the Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department and General Administration Department to get the complaint against the officers then posted in the Housing and Urban Development Department examined under rules for appropriate action.
