4 drug peddlers arrested

KATHUA, Dec 5: Intensifying its action against drug menace within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today recovered 950 bottles (100 ml each) “Cocrex and Maxx cough syrup like contraband, four Inter-State drug peddlers were arrested and one Range Rover was seized at Govindsar on Railway Station road here.
Police said on specific information a team of Kathua police along with Executive Magistrate (First Class) Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Shammi Kumar laid naka at Govindsar on Railway Station road and intercepted one vehicle Range Rover without any number plates driven by Vikram Sharma, son of Jasbir Singh of Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu who was along with three Delhi based drug peddlers namely Sunny, son of Veerbhan of Subhash Nagar Delhi, Hritik Soni, Navneet Soni of Uttam Nagar, Vikaspuri Extension Gali No. 06 Delhi, Pardeep Sapra son of Lt. During search of vehicle, 950 bottles of “Cocrex and Maxx” cough syrup contraband were recovered from their illegal possession which were concealed in the vehicle. All the four persons were arrested and the contraband item was also seized on spot. In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 514/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act got registered at PS Kathua and further investigation was taken up.
Kathua police again requested people of the area to come forward and share information about any such illicit activity on 100 with Police for the cause. The identity of informers will be kept confidential.
