POONCH, Dec 5: Parents of school students from Poonch town have demanded opening of schools as the study of their children has been badly effected since Covid lockdowns.
Scores of parents assembled near the office of Chief Education Officer in Poonch the other day and held brief protest. They also submitted a memorandum to the CEO demanding opening of the schools without any more delay.
The parents urged the J&K authorities to open all government and private schools for offline classes as the studies of their wards have been badly hit. They also raised slogans in favour to reopen schools which had been closed for students since long due to COVID-19.
The parents said that election rallies are allowed here and many other establishments are allowed to run despite having huge gatherings but only schools have been kept closed for students which is a serious concern.
They urged LG Administration and Deputy Commissioner Poonch to issue an order in this regard for saving the future of the students.
