JAMMU, Dec 6: Highlighting importance of weather in field managed operations, Agrometeorology Section of SKUAST-Jammu today organized a camp at village Rathana in R S Pura.
The programme, under SC-SP Head of AICRPAM, was preceded by Dr Mahender Singh, Sr Scientist and Incharge AICRPAM, who discussed in detail the forecast services provided by Agrometeorology which enhance the income of farmers and reduce the input cost of different crops.
Prof Jag Paul Sharma, Ex-Director Research cum Registrar was the chief guest of the occasion and stressed for more participation in such type of programme. He also distributed wheat variety (WH-1021,WH-1080 and HD-3086) among the farmers for higher productivity.
Dr Deepak Kumar, Asso Prof, Plant Pathology; Dr B R Bazaya, Sr Scientist and I/C,Weed; Dr Jai Kumar, Jr Scientist (Agronomy) ACRA, Dhiansar; Dr Anjani Kr Singh, Jr Scientist, Mega Seed and Dr Charu Sharma gave detailed information on the use of weather based agro-advisories and the services in this regard rendered by Agrometerology Section, SKUAST – Jammu. Dr Monika Banotra, FASAL Project presented the vote of thanks.
