Chief PMG launches “Customer 1st” campaign from Lakhanpur

JAMMU, July 27: In a move to bring people closer to Post Offices and provide them customer friendly services the Department of Posts launched “Customer First” campaign in the State.
The campaign was formally launched by John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General (PMG), J&K from Lakhanpur, the entry point to the State after dedicating the modernized Post Office at Lakhanpur to the people under “Project Arrow.”
During the campaign various activities will be carried out focusing on identification of potential customers, customer satisfaction and encouraging staff to know the relevance of customers.
The fully modernized and computerized Post Office from where the “Customer First” Campaign has been launched will also provide Post Shop services, Philately services in addition to mail services, Speed Post, Parcel and Banking services.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief PMG said, “the campaign will focus on identification of potential customers business as well as individual, their requirements, customer satisfaction for which a survey will be conducted by providing feedback forms and encouraging staff members to know the relevance of customers by providing them best available services at Post Offices including better ambiance and pleasant atmosphere.”
Samuel further added that people can write to him directly sharing their experience of postal services for further improvement and a link will also be provided on the J&K Postal Circle’s website www.jkpost.gov.in for feedback during the campaign.
He said that Lakhanpur being the gateway to the State was an ideal place for the launch of “Customer First” campaign.
Director Postal Services J&K, Jagdeep Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
