Jammu, July 27: Police today organized a massive Anti-Drug Rally in Jammu city with an aim to create awareness among the youth regarding the evils of drug addiction.
The rally was flagged off from the Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground Jammu by Rajesh Kumar, IGP Jammu and Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu Range. The rally started from Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground Jammu and returned to the same spot after passing through different areas.
About 3000 students from various educational institutions and locals participated in the rally. The local populace extended full support to the rally. The rally will go a long way in eradicating menace of drugs from Jammu region.
IGP and DIG said that motive of the rally was to create awareness among the youth about harmful effects of drug addiction. “We want to eradicate the drug menace from Jammu district in order to ensure bright future for the young generation of Jammu”, they added. Prizes for displaying best banners were announced on spot.
