JAMMU, July 27: The foundation day of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was celebrated today with great enthusiasm at CRPF Group Centre Bantalab.
Inspector General of CRPF, Group Centre, Bantalab, KS Bhandari, who was the chief guest on the occasion was first given guard of honour as per the tradition of the Force. Later he visited the place of martyrs’ memorial and paid floral tributes to the martyrs.
Other officers and jawans also paid floral tributes to the martyrs. The martyrs were remembered by all by observing two minutes silence.
A blood donation camp was organized in the Family Welfare Centre of the Group Centre, where about 50 officers and jawans of Jammu based CRPF Battalions donated blood. The camp was organized by Group Centre, Bantalab in collaboration with State Bank of India, Bantalab Branch and Regional Red Cross Office. Higher officials of CRPF, AGM, SBI, Bantalab, Pawan Kumar and Arun Padha of Regional Red Cross Office were also present.
Later a T-20 cricket match was organized in the Parade Ground of the Group centre.
Various cultural programmes were also organized on the occasion by the students of KV Bantalab, CRPF jawans and invited regional artists.
The programme was attended by various higher officials of CRPF and their subordinates along with their family members. A Bara Khana was also organized on the occasion.
