Srinagar, Dec 8: The traditional Mughal road connecting Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri in Jammu division remained closed for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Razdan Top and Gurez in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, which were also closed as a precautionary measure following fresh snowfall on Sunday, were put through for vehicular traffic on Wednesday, a traffic police official said here.
Besides, Keran and Karnah roads in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara were also cleared of snow and traffic was allowed to ply on them, he added.
The snow clearance operation, which was taken up on Monday on Mughal road, could not continue due to the slippery road conditions, the traffic official said and added that if the weather conditions remained favourable, the road would be put through by this evening.
The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was open for vehicular traffic for both sides on Tuesday, after remaining closed for two days, the official said, adding that heavy motor vehicles would only be allowed from Jammu to Srinagar today.
The Srinagar-Ladakh Highway was put through for vehicular traffic, after the completion of snow clearance operation there. (Agencies)
