Last week, two children of an imam, two-year-old son Mohammad Hashim and four-year-old daughter Aalia, were brutally murdered while his wife was critically wounded at Bemina, on the outskirts of Srinagar, on Wednesday morning.
The gory incident occurred when the imam Iftikhar Ahmad and his associate were sleeping in the ‘hamam’ of a mosque at Iqbalabad, Bemina after ‘fajr’ prayers.
Police recovered a sharp-edged weapon and some blade packets from the crime scene.
Iftikhar, the imam, hails from border area of Gurez in North Kashmir and had moved to Iqbalabad’s Noor Masjid around three months ago.
