JAMMU, Dec 9: The two- day State Working Committee of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Kashmir, adopted some important resolutions and demanded that all educational institutions in the Union Territory should be started through offline medium.
ABVP demanded that all the vacant posts of teachers should be filled immediately and exam results be declared soon besides strengthening the basic facilities in the colleges. The ABVP also demands that National Education Policy (NEP 2020) should be implemented soon in the Jammu Kashmir and the Universities admission process be completed immediately.
While briefing about the State Working Committee meeting, which was held on December 6-7 at Trikuta Yatri Niwas, ABVP State Secretary Mukesh Manhas said that the Government should not interfere in the autonomy of the universities. The Government should focus on the infrastructure of the newly allotted colleges, he added and informed that on 13th December, ABVP will submit memorandum to all Principles of the colleges and VC’s of Universities regarding all these issues.
“On December 15, ABVP will start signature campaign while on December 17, a protest demonstration will held at all the campus,” he said adding that on December 20, protest demonstrations will be held at district headquarters besides submitting memorandum to DCs.
Other who were present in the press conference, included Nandita Sharma and Ramnik Sharma, State Joint Secretary ABVP.
