Take strict action against traffic violators under MV Act: ADGP to officers

JAMMU, Dec 15: The ADGP Traffic, J&K, T Namgyal along with Mohan Lal Kaith, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Traffic Rural Jammu visited District Kathua and held meeting with the Police Administration of District Kathua in the premises of DPL Kathua.
The aim and objective of the joint meeting was to reduce the rate of vehicular accidents in the Union Territory.
Romesh Kotwal, SSP Kathua, DySP Headquarters Kathua, DySP DAR DPL Kathua, SDPO Border Kathua, DySP(T) Samba-Kathua and the concerned DTIs and Traffic Sector Officers were also present on the occasion.
ADGP during the course of meeting stressed on the officers to lay down special and random traffic checking points jointly on National Highway including other link roads and check each and every vehicle thoroughly after entering the main entrance in the J&K from Lakhanpur. They have also been briefed to take strict action against the traffic violators under the provisions of MV Act and law of land. Special joint traffic checking drives should be launched against the traffic violators particularly indulging in visible offences.
ADGP also stressed upon the officers to ensure proper discipline, accountability and transparency in traffic management system. The officers have been further directed to worn of body cameras while challaning.
The meetings with the owners of the vehicles, transporters and agents should be conducted to extend their full co-operation to the traffic cops, so that a proper check over the traffic violator is maintained.
