JAMMU, Dec 15: Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony and Sidhra Police seized four vehicles involved in illegal mining, while Bishnah Police seized illegal dump of mining material.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch, Police Post Sainik Colony led by PSI Mohammad Younis Khanday and Police Post Sidhra led by SI Shakil Ahmed raided different locations in their respective areas and seized 4 different vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan was constituted after information received that some persons were involved in illegal extraction of mining material from the river bed.
The team raided at the suspected locations along with the officials of the Department of Geology and Mining and seized one dump of illegal mining material of a person namely Kura Ram, son of Sain Dass of Amir Nagar Dabbar, Bishnah.
DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
The mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
