Police seeks orders from DC to exhume body from grave

RAJOURI, July 29: In a surprising development after the death of an 18-year-old youth due to negligence of doctors during minor surgery in Rajouri hospital on May 1, 2013, the District police today sought the permission from the District Magistrate (DC) Rajouri to exhume the body of the deceased from the grave and conduct postmortem.
A senior official in the district administration said that after the directions from the J&K High Court to conduct fresh and fair investigations into the case, a special police team has been constituted for the purpose. The police has sought permission from the District Magistrate Rajouri, F C Bhagat to exhume the dead body of Shariq Shahdab (18), a close relative of MLA Darhal Ch Zulfiqar and DC Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal, from the grave and get the autopsy conducted by a Medical Board.
DC Rajouri when contacted confirmed that he has received a request on the matter from the District Police Rajouri and it was under his consideration. He said that he will issue orders after examining the case file and reports of the committees thoroughly.
