CHENNAI, July 30: India’s largest Sodium Silicate producer Kiran Global Chems Limited (KGCL) is aiming to become carbon neutral by 2022, besides achieving a turnover of Rs 1200 crore by 2015.
KGCL was the flagship company of the MS Jain Group and it had recently touched the 300,000 tonne mark in sodium silicate production and was now second in the race to become the world’s largest producer.
Talking to reporters here last evening, Company Chairman M S Jain said KGCL would be establishing a production plant for Precipitated Silica in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu with an installed capacity of 36,000 TPA and an investment of Rs 100 crore.
As part of expanding its global footprint, KGCL was setting up the world”s largest sodium silicate plant with an investment of 30 million US Dollars. However, the company did not divulge the location of the facility.
Mr Jain said the company was also looking to establish a Sodium
Silicate manufacturing plant at Doha in Qatar by the end of this year with an investment of USD five million and another manufacturing plant with a similar at Abu Dhabi in UAE.
Throwing light on the company’s vision, Mr Jain said, ”With the help of our upcoming projects, we aim to reduce carbon foot print by ten per cent by implementing high-end industry practices for manufacturing.”
”Our main target is to generate a turnover of Rs 1200 crore by 2015 and also to become carbon neutral by the year 2022,” he added.
