RAJOURI, July 30:  With the arrest of a youth engaged by bank management, the police worked out a  `fake’ theft case which allegedly took place in the `Khidmat’ Centre of  J&K Bank branch Darhal today.
This centre had been opened by the bank for opening of fresh accounts of the public including those under MNREGA, receiving electricity bills and allied jobs. One  Aatiq-ur-Rehman, son of  Bashir Hussain of  Darhal was running this centre.
The smart complainant, lodged an FIR on Sunday at  the local Police Station alleging that theft took place in the Khidmat centre  on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, in which the burglars decamped with Rs 27,000 cash, two laptops, one desk top (computer), a digital camera, a UPS,  a photostat machine and two printers.
The police registered a case and started investigation. On the basis of a clue, the police raided a closed shop of  brother of  the complainant and recovered all the items. Aatiq himself had dumped all the items in the shop of his brother Mohd Shafiq to dodge  police and dupe JK Bank. He was arrested and a case registered against him.
