JAMMU, Dec 19: Gandhi Global Family (GGF)-an NGO working for bringing communities together and working towards spreading awareness and achieving the 17 Sustainable Goals of the United Nation, unveiled portrait of Father of the Nation Mahatama Gandhi at Amar Singh Club.
Dr S P Verma (Padma Shri) while addressing the gathering said that these goals are based on the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi who believed in self dependence. He and the other members of the Gandhi Global Family presented a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi to Anil Kapahi, Secretary of Amar Singh Club. Kapahi was also presented with an India UN Lapel pin. Dr Vikram Handa, Dr Neerupama Dogra, Dr Nandita Mehta and Vikram Puri were presented a Tri-Colour “Angvastra”.
Members of the Gandhi Global Family present on the occasion were Soba Ram, Jasbinder Singh Kuku, Karuna Gupta, Robin Gill, Ankush Varma, Mohinder Rana, Raman Gupta and Shujja Zaffar. Anadya hosted the show and Dr Vikram Handa presented vote of thanks at the end.
Later, a free health camp was organized by Amar Singh Club, Jammu. During the Camp, free health check-ups were provided in ENT, Dental, Ophthalmology and Pain Management. The team of doctors comprised of Dr Neerupama Dogra (Ophthalmologist), Dr Nitika Mehta Kapahi (ENT), Dr Nandita Mehta (Pain Management), Dr Ritu and Dr Rajesh Ahal (Dentists). A total of about 100 patients were examined and given free medical advice and medicines.
